Youth Camp & Hyphen Retreat 2026 is heading to Camp Buckner! Ziplines, rock climbing, high ropes course, resort-style swimming pool, kayaks, a blob, fishing pond, water slide, covered basketball courts, sand volleyball, disc golf, wiffle ball, and archery - what more do we need to say?

SCTX Youth Camp | SCTX Hyphen Retreat

This year, we are offering two distinct camp experiences: (1) Youth Camp for attendees ages 12 to 17 and (2) Hyphen Retreat for attendees ages 18 to 23. Each of these camps will have separate morning services, dorms, and recreation schedules. The two groups will only share mealtimes in the cafeteria and evening services. Otherwise, the two groups will be entirely separate throughout the week.

Youth Camp

Minimum Age: 12 years old by December 31, 2026

Maximum Age: 17 years old on July 20, 2026.

Hyphen Retreat

Minimum Age: 18 years old on July 20, 2026

Maximum Age: 23 years old on July 20, 2026

Please complete the following for Youth Camp & Hyphen Retreat:

  1. Register for Youth Camp and Hyphen Retreat on Zeffy. Youth Camp workers must also register.

  2. Print and complete the forms below. A physical copy of these forms must be presented on-site at registration on July 20.

Note: Workers need to complete the worker-specific forms below (Worker Forms). The forms for Youth Camp registrants & Hyphen Retreat registrants are the same (Camper Forms).

Event Details

No On-Site Registration: At the request of Camp Buckner, there will be no on-site registration. All participants must be registered by Friday, July 10, 2026.

Speaker: Reverend Kerry Jones will be preaching in the evening services and select day sessions at both Youth Camp & Hyhen Retreat. Various other members of the SCTX District Youth Committee will be speaking during the day sessions.

Arrival Time: Check-in for Youth Camp & Hyphen Retreat will be from 4 pm to 6 pm on Monday, July 20.

Departure Time: Check-out for Youth Camp & Hyphen Retreat will be from 9 am to 11 am on Friday, July 24.

Activity Schedule: When registering on Zeffy, each camper will be asked to rank their activity preferences. Once registration closes, we will finalize the activity schedule based on the feedback received. We cannot guarantee that all campers will be placed in their chosen activity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Pricing will be as follows:

    • Worker Registration will be $300 (Available from April 1, 2026, to July 10, 2026)

    • Early Camper Registration will be $370 (Available from April 1, 2026, to May 31, 2026)

    • Standard Camper Registration will be $400 (Available from June 1, 2026, to July 10, 2026)

  • Attendees of Youth Camp (12-17) and Hyphen Retreat (18-23) will have the same mealtimes and evening service. All other programming, recreation, day sessions, and dorms will be separate. Attendees of Hyphen Retreat will undergo a background check.

  • Deans and Matrons must be 24 years of age by July 20, 2026. Deans and Matrons will primarily serve as dorm supervisors while also assisting in other leadership areas during Youth Camp.

  • Both Youth Camp & Hyphen Retreat are closed campus events. Attendees must register and attend for the entirety of the camp. No unregistered person(s) will be allowed on-site under any circumstances (exceptions for medical or behavioral emergencies only.)

  • Please see the worker and camper forms for all details regarding the dress code and camp guidelines.

  • We encourage each group at Youth Camp to have its own leader(s) who stay in the dorms with their group.

  • Youth camp is a special time for youth group unity. Our goal is to keep each group together as the accomodations permit.
